The New Zealand Notable Trees Trust (NZNTT)

The New Zealand Notable Trees Trust (NZNTT) was established 2007/2008, arising from a national scheme established in 1977 to identify and register heritage trees.

The New Zealand Notable Trees Trust is a registered charitable trust. The new trust has several initial and ongoing challenges:

To develop a public database of New Zealand’s notable trees.
To utilise existing records and newly submitted listings.
Establish a New Zealand national tree registrar network to assist in locating Notable, Veteran and Champion trees nationwide.
To populate the database with verified data.
To ensure all information is accurate and in a consistent format.
To Promote NZNTT nationwide to private and public tree owners
To ensure individuals, councils and agencies are aware/supportive.
